Philipp Lahm
Philipp Lahm was born in Munich in 1983.
Starting out as a junior at VFB Stuttgart, he acquired the stature of a key figure and regular first-team player. He then moved up to the national side. He was voted second in the Footballer of the Year 2004 poll.
Back at FC Bayern, he won the German Championship and the DFB Cup in 2006.
In the 2006 World Cup in Germany, he was one of the mainstays of the German eleven. Germany finished the tournament third, and Philipp was chosen as one of the members of the World Cup All-Star Team.
In the eyes of many experts, the German defender was the discovery of the tournament.
In 2008, Lahm won the DFB Cup and the German Championship with FC Bayern.
