Ghent
Ghent is a vivid, authentic city, boasting a pleasant living and working environment, which is really worth discovering. You will find a unique mixture of historical architecture, contemporary events, internationally renowned museums, regional gastronomy and a dazzling nightlife.
In the Middle Ages, Ghent was the second largest city next to Paris. The three towers of the city as well as the splendid medieval port at Graslei and Korenlei are witness of this glorious past. Nowadays, these places are still bustling with activity during the Ghent Festivities, the largest street theatre festival of Europe. The pedestrian city centre invites people to stroll through the cosy shopping streets, to enjoy a drink in the outdoor cafés and to imagine being a knight in the castle of the Counts!
Ghent is particularly happy for the arrival of the smurfs. They invade the city from March 14th till March 16th on the occasion of their 50th anniversary. Make sure to pay them a visit!
